I wonder if your stamped steel pulley on the beater shaft is not worn, or been hot and distorted (might not hurt to check that belt really grabs the pulley, if it is worn out they really do not have the gripping power. I have even had to change the front one that drives the straw spreaders in beans to keep them from slowing down and causing a plug in the rear of the combine.

There should be brackets (or kickers) on the end of the rear rotor bars. You can remove the top cover at the rear of the rotor and check if there is anything there. A friend of mine was running a 1480 in similar conditions and he was setting fires. When we opened the cover (that's where the trash was bunching) we found the rotor only had the bars and did not have the kickers. He got the kickers from IH and the kit included short pieces of chain to help clear the back area
