Combines 2188 cab air filter

Your fan creates the pressure in the cab so even if you had a leak in the cab, dirt wouldn't or shouldn't be sucked in. Our 8820 would pull dust through the filter when it needed changing. I ran a 2188 that was the same way especially in bean dust. We blew the filters every couple days - it was better. My guess is your seal around the filter may be at fault. Otherwise you have a hole in the filter or in the intake for the fan that bypasses the filter that the fan can suck dirt through.

on the 2188 under the storage box in cab under buddy seat, pull box out there is a fan under the box that is cab pressure fan even though you ac is off this fan should keep your cab pressurized make sure fan is running our's went bad an would blow fuse same fuse as 4wd that's how we traced it to that blower but check filter hose too, or just get someone who smokes like my father and you'll have ashes all over and you won't see the dust! Just kidding, good luck!!

I to am fighting the same problem. like chad said make sure you check your cab pressurising blower under the buddy seat. I just want to add that you have to have engine running for it to run as it is hooked to engine oil pressure. I thought mine was bad till I discovered this. I still think that it may be shutting down during the day as my cab gets dirty only at certain times. When I get cutting again I will check this. Seems like a goofy setup for the cab air filter. I did see one on a lot that had a filter housing off a small engine piped into the hopper. It didnt look to bad and I would think there is cleaner air up there then in behind the door. Good luck

I think all of the 2188's were supposed to be updated to the filter on the right side of the cab. There is a pipe though the grain bin that draws the air from a large filter. The little filter on the left is eliminated I think. If you are dealing with the original setup that came out in 1995 and 1996, I'm not sure you can keep the cab clean. Our's was already updated when we got it, so I can't say for sure.

I would not allow my 2188 cab air filter to be updated to that mickey mouse thing behind the right side service door. I am very happy with the original filter on the left side of the cab and don't have abnormal dust and dirt infiltration,
