A agree with you. Unfortunately Case doesn't have nearly the money that CAT or even JD can waste. They are pretty tight and they have to get their production together in Grand Island for both new combines. I wish that each CASE interested person has a little patience and a little faith in the red ones. If you start selling to early you get such mistakes like the STS is now.

STS a mistakeIJ You had better try one. My 4 red ones are gone because there's no comparison. The STS is one engineering marvel.

Every time I hear someone talking about how great the green machines are I laugh deere told all their customers for years that conventional walker combines were superior to rotors but now that they have come out with a rotor it is just the best thing on earth it makes me sick to stomach that you would call it an Engineering Marvel when it is not all that different from all the other rotor machines on the market today

I guess that's your perogative, but I'm glad you're the one that's going to have to live with that decision and not me.

Well said, I also believe that deere has a long way to go to catch up to axial flows performance and grain quality, not to mention the initial cost savings of the axial flow vs. the green machine.

Well said. Although we do not know where the price will fall with the new Case machine, there has to be some efficiency with both machines being built in the same location with lower labor costs than Illinois. Unfortunately, the current Axial Flow has been cost reduced about as far as it can go, there is always room for improvement on new machines. But the real problem with cost reductions is that they are never passed on to the real customer, it goes to Wall Street.

You better read my "STS harvest summary 2001" on the JD site. Then you will understand my opinion.

YOU PEOPlE HAVE OBVIOUSlY NEVER lOOKED INTO HOW AN STS WORKS. YES, IT IS A ROTOR, BUT THERE ARE SO MANY ADVANTAGES TO IT THAT MAKE IT WORK SO MUCH BETTER THAN MY OlD A-F COMBINES. THEY WERE GREAT CORN COMBINES AND STIll ARE, BUT IT'S IN THE TOUGH BEANS, DAMP BEANS, ETC WHERE THE STS IS JUST WAY BETTER...lIGHT YEARS BETTER. THE DESIGN AllOWS IT TO BE THAT WAY. CASE HAD BETTER DO SOMETHING OR THE ONlY PEOPlE THAT ARE GOING TO OWN THEIR MACHINE ARE THE ONES THAT ARE TOO "RED" COlOR BlIND TO lOOK FOR THE BEST. MY 2 CENTS.

You just wait until your STS has about 700 separator hours and starts falling apart.
