This is in reply to mx270 and all who agreed with him on how DEERE used to say conventional combines were superior to rotors. That is because DEERE always believd that a combine should be able to cut in any conditions, and until now, a rotor was not capable of that. DEERE might not always be the fastest in all conditions but my 9750 STS (and the other three green machines I've owned) will start earlier in the morning then any red, yellow, or silver machine, stay out later in the night then any red, yellow, or silver machine, and eat more down, wet, green, weedy, tough, high yeilding crops then any red, yellow, or silver machine will ever come close to. Don't get me wrong, however, I think under every coat of paint is a great machine with unique and individual qualities, but until you have ran an STS for a season don't start mocking something that you have no clue about. I'll admit the STS is still young, and JOHN DEERE still has a lot of bugs to work out of it, but no other machine so far compares (and I would no from experience) to what is truly an "Engineering Marvell". Oh, and one more thought, this time to "Dakota" I have put 934 separator hours on my 9750 STS and have sustained very little damage. Besides my GreenStar moniter hardley ever working for more then a week and one electrical harness burning up, I have had very little failure in my big GREEN monster. Other then the regular problems, broken gaurds_sections, bent slats, and burned belts I have not put a wrench to this machine. However, I did, unfortunatly, have an accident while transporting my magnificant piece of machinery down the road. When the combine arrived to my dealer I asked them to put the bigger tires on the rear axeles. This would have worked out fine except for the genius who mounted my left rear wheel forgot to put in all but three lugnuts (explain that). It only took about 6 days of operation and transporting before we found out. One day I was moving to the next field, luckily with the header removed, when the combine started to veer to the right in several furocios bounces. I quickly stopped in just enough time to glance to my right to see my wheel merrily rolling down the road. luckily there were no injuries, and only half a day of down time. The employee who mounted my tire sadly lost his job and all parts were replaced free of charge.
