Combines 4420 header control

Mark we had trouble with a 915 not wanting to float last year on my neighbor's 6620 T2. The problem ended out being that the mice had eaten the insulation off of eight wires funneling through a channel on top of the feederhouse to the sensor resulting in a short.

If this is the simple AHHC system (3 wires down the feederhouse) check the conection at the header. If you have a voltmeter or test light check to see if you have power in the center pin of the connector on the feederhouse. If not check the fuse. It will be in the engine compartment right behind the guages. The power then flows through the switch attached to the chain so make sure that switch works. If you have power to the end of the feederhouse then it is most likely in the control switches on the header. If you want to check the operation of the valves then you can use a short jumper on the harness on the feederhouse. The center wire is live power and the outside wires are raise and lower. Just be very carefull with the system on and being out of the cab. If you have the Dail-a-matic header control then you might check all your connections and if that doesn't do it you better call your Deere dealer.

A couple of problems you could have are the sensors on the header are bad. Another problem with the electro-hydraulic control valve underneath the cab. These things have spools valves in them that can stick. YOU HOPE.
