Combines 6620 Titan II

How many hours were on it, was it a T2IJ Unless it was totaly worn out, I would think you could have gotten $10,000 for it. I was at a sale several weeks ago, and saw a 1981 6620, with about 4,000 hours on it that had rust holes in the sheet metal on the sides of it, and in the bottom of the grain tank, and it had obviously not been well maintained. It had a 915 flex that was in decent shape, but the corn head was so worn out, the sheet metal had holes worn in it above the gathering chains. Some idiot paid $22,000 for the thing.

Yeah I think I saw the pic of that 6620 on your website a while back. That is a really nice machine. I don't know if they will take $20,000 for it or not, the old guy who owned it died a while back and his city relatives who obviously know absolutely nothing about farming, or farm equipment are trying to sell the stuff. I think they probably got the prices out of Fastline, and probably don't realize that those are all asking prices, and nobody is going to pay that for a machine. By the way, how is your 4400 project coming alongIJ

It is on hold. HOPEFUllY I can get Ted Everitt (large farm equipment auctioneer west of Indy) to haul it to the farm late Spring. They ship around 500 combines to and from their auction each year. They will have to haul it 80 loaded miles so it won't be cheap.

Indiana has had alot of them ..The one i mentioned even had new tires put on it ..with 4wd I think it has sold for 11,000 but was still setting at the dealer last time we were there..

Yeah hauling that thing 80 miles won't be cheap. Hauling a combine can be tricky as well. When dad got our 4400 he borrowed a Mack roadtractor and a big lowboy from a friend of his who was in the excavating business. We had to go across a drawbridge on the way home, and once we were on the bridge he realized that there was no way that combine was going to fit under the cross girders on the drawbridge. We had to stop in the middle of the bridge, blocking traffic and unload the combine, drive it across the drawbridge, and then put it back on the truck.

No Joke! I reckon he is probably still cussing me, because they sold the heads seperate and the 915 flex was a lot newer than the combine and in good shape. My head is about worn out, so I was going to buy it. I bid $4,200 for it. I figured it was probably worth $5,000, but I realized that the way that guy was bidding he must be making more money growing beans than I am. If I had not been bidding the guy would have gotten the head for about $2500.

Hey Red, Dean Ford buys alot of combines and tractors at Teds sales .. And he drives them to his dealership in Dupont In. We drove ours home and it took about two hours .. We had a blocker with lights and went slow ! JUST GOTTA BE SAFE DOING IT !!!!!!! GOOD lUCK !!!!!

It probably would not be the first time someone has driven a combine through there. I was in downtown Richmond VA one day, and two Case IH 2188s came right through the middle of town with headers in tow.
