Factory won't listen till they lose money! I put a Deere head on my Gleaner (thanks to BISH) then put a Deere head on my IH (IH doesn't make a full finger head either) Deere's makin money sellin heads to me!! How much more would it cost Agco to put 2 or 4 more bearing supports inside the augerIJIJ $100IJIJ When is someone going to put a green full finger auger in a GleanerIJIJ Trim 3_4 inch off each end of the Deere auger (25 foot head) Move a little flighting (an outside job) Move some fingers (remember all the bearing supports) 24 inch diameter auger fits a 300, 500 SeriesIJIJIJ Sandblast auger and repaint (so Deere guys won't know what passed them) When you run a Deere Cornhead at nite you appreciate the Gleaner Silver over camouflage Green!!

Did you get adaptor to fasten JD full finger head to Gleaner or JD corn head to GleanerIJ Sometimes with adaptors you can end up with a questionable transition between head and feeder. That is a very important transition even when using factory matched attachments. That transition becomes less important with corn or beans than with some other crops like wheat and barley. Just wondering if transition is good if you put JD full finger head on. Other than more parts on a full finger auger I have nothing at all against them and believe they will lay material down to get straw under auger. I would like to see what faster auger or steeper pitch flighting would do on these 7" flighting augers before adding fingers. For what it would take they could likely have a full finger option or kit. Over the years I've seen things that companys comes out with weather it needs it or not. I think there were just as many guys asking JD why they don't just install a 7" flighting auger as there were guys asking Gleaner why they don't just install fingers to their 4" flighting auger. I personally see much more future for the 7" high capacity and go ahead and fine tune it with fingers or whatever as added capacity it needed. Catch ya later

Got a Bish Jd corn head to l2, Adapter has a wedge built into it. In fact the feeder beater fingers timing can be set to hit the auger flighting, It feeds great! The grain head adapter is only 1_8 inch thick on the front of the feeder house, no wedge. Table auger is 2 inch from feeder beater fingers. Some of the fingers on the table auger were out wider than feeder opening so I removed them (JD has a slick finger bearing setup) and put covers over the finger guide holes JD table auger spins faster so I put smaller (grain) sprocket on feeder beater to speed up feeder beater. IH adapter to JD is 1_8 inch thick, On IH you can adjust tilt of header (and adapter) so only one adapter is needed for IH. You could adjust length of feeder chain to get slats closer to auger if needed,But I didn't, it feeds great.All the adapters are flush no steps or ridge on the feeder floor BISH builds them RIGHT! If I had a bad auger in a 300 or 500 head I'd put a JD full finger in it! Still Agco could build table augers with bearing supports already inside and put covers over the finger guide holes on a wheat head then the dealer could just install the rest to make it a full finger if the customer requested it.

BTW New Holland has a full fingered auger header available now. They will even paint it red for the CIH guys. BIl used one on a 2388 last year an loved it. Hated the cost of buying one and is looking for a conversion setup now.

Thanks for the info. I was curious about a Bish adaptor fitup to rotary for a grain head. Not to hard to match up corn head to get them to work but grain heads need a very nice transition in our area. I would of thought the full finger augers would of brought material around the back of auger for that was a problem in our crops with the old heads. I guess the full fingers are timed different and there is a single finger every so often. Sounds like a good plan to me and if there was a tendency of material coming over the back I would just add a channel iron under auger to help hold it there. Hopefully some guys will put the full fingers on some old Gleaner heads for next year for it surely would be best to stay with Gleaner if possible. Maybe someone will get a good side by side with and without test on the Gleaner heads in a condition where there is a problem for next year. Thanks again and take care
