Combines 8010 first look

I am supposed to be getting a demo of the 8010 here for our harvest in nov-dec. Apparently there are about 10 running around the counrty side out here so far. From what I here they are talking 50+ton_hr easily. I would be very interested to here if anyone has actually seen one goIJ

I was at the CASEIH ag info center in Nevada Iowa a few days ago and there was 2 8010's there. They are a giant machine with a alot of unproven technology. when you buy one you have to buy all new headers. the old ones will not work. My blood is awfully red but I think I will keep my 2388 for a while yet

50 tons an hour of what cropIJ Thats an amazing amount of capacity....you couldnt run a grain cart hard enough to keep up.

Claas 480 lexions have been regularly harvesting 50ton_hour in wheat here in U.K. since they where introduced in 1996!! This is the main reason that JD brought out the 9880sts (9860sts USA fall 2003) last year and CNH the CR980_AFX8010 this year because no other model of combine could come anywhere near the 480 lexion for capacity in our 4_5ton_acre wheat crops.One advantage the 480 will still have over the new "pretenders" is that it has been continually improved and tested over the last 7 years.

I'm curious what kind of sample you put in the tank in wheat. The undersized return elevator looks way out of proportion to everything else on the machine. looks like one would have to run the sieve wide open in order to avoid overloading the return. Ed in Montana

local dealer SW Minnesota priced out a pretty complete corn_bean 8010, without rear assist, and listed out between $242,000 and $243,000 US, no heads. May be a good investment, or not, but is an awful lot of money. Can we make a good return on any of these new machines with what they costIJ
