Ed, I'm sorry I have never actually ran a lexion 480,they are too wide for road travel where I live.We run a lexion 430 and NH TX64+ and have a new 470 lexion sitting here in our yard waiting for the winter barley to ripen sometime next week to get her cutting!!! While I was over in the states last year running a 9650sts my boss had a 470 out on demo here in N.Ireland, bearing in mind that he was still "tinkering" with the machine he reckoned he was averaging 40_45ton_hour in 4ton_acre winter wheat during the couple of days he ran her.Needless to say he was impressed so a 1991 Claas 108Sl was traded this spring for the 470.

A few years ago our GleanerR72 was working with some Cases in heavy (for Australia wheat) and the Case guys decided to see how much the gleaners could put through them so they set up a test and weighed the grain harvested and it ended up that the 72 was harvesting 49 tonnes per hour. In grain sorghum (irrigated)in some conditions over 70 tonnes per hour has been achieved but this is not common.
