I still have your address in my email. I ended up talking with Dave Davenport severl times this year. Did you have any trouble with cobs in your corn sampleIJ I could not get them out. I tried everything. I later found out I have a row of reverse bars in there. I dont think that helps anything. But something has to be done to fix it. The Dealer is Kuhns Equipment in Arthur IG

Dealer was just about to "update" our 8200 the other day when AGCO told them not to. Sounds like they have a new campaign coming in Jan. or so. They thought AGCO was going to change "everything".

No corn here so thats not a problem I know anything about. We run reverse bars to slow rice down cause when we run a stripper head its basically pure grain going through the rotor and it has a tendency to just keep on truckin right out the back unless there's something to slow it down enough to fall through the grates. Reverse bars do the trick. I leave them in for all crops (rice, milo, beans and wheat).

hey il gleaner they made the pulley change in like 06 or maybe 07 i have been told that you can go back to the old way it with just the single pulley, and yeah i do agree with you on that one that was one of the dumbest moves i have ever saw they want simple then they do something like that its time consuming, otherwise all u had to do was flop the belt to the high side and go now u have to take the pulleys off and rotate them, how did u fix it by the wayIJ riceman we could not get by here with just spreaders gotta have a chopper to chew the stuff up, ilgleaner we set our chopper us as high as we could in beans and thought it helped some we could get 30ft and more dependning on green stems and such, we thought having it set up high helped but for the 40ft not sure if it would that much though, did you like the factory chaff spreadersIJ we had them on our 9690 and now on our 9790 and love em compared to the aftermarket ones. ilgleaner i think the MAV chopper is what you are talking about that spreads the chaff and straw both not seen one work but i would say it would help. ilgleaner we did have problems with little bits of cobs picking wet corn say 28%-around 20% once it got below 20 it got better, yeah we took the reverse bars out of our 9690 ran the last year and thought it helped, we kept them in the 9790 but yeah i still say they are causing the problem with cobs just can't figure out why it don't do it all the time, our dealer said u can relax the concave with the reverse bars i did with the 9690 and never did think it helped any in corn or beans. i do think it grinds up the corn more as well. i'm still thinking of getting rid of our reverse bars out of ours as well. allen marshall, il

Allen, We dont live very far apart. If you are ever over my way I will show you what we did for our chopper. I live in Willow Hill. If you are ever at Casey ,the combine is on 49 just north of Willow Hill. My partners sister is a dentist up in Marshall. We bought both of the pulleys again and both of the idlers again. The hub at the front that had the double pulley.Bought 2 of them, had the back sides machined off, bolted that on and the new pulleys to the out side of that, now all we do is pull the belt over to the other set of pulleys. Real engineering break through........lOl. Email me sometime and I will give you the parts numbers. If you are ever over my way call me and take a look at what we did. Email me and I will give you my number. IG
