I was waiting for someone else that bales more straw than we do to give you an answer but here's mine. Yes you can bale straw, we do. No it's not like a cylinder combine. I like it better from a rotor combine as it falls apart better for beding. Don't know why some people need long strawIJ Don't really think a New Holland twin rotor would be any better than your 2366. What we do is cut our wheat with some dew on it so the straw is damp. It will come out more whole and bales good. If you cut in the dry part of the day may not be much leftIJ Not sure if I helped you much but New Holland does make the CX combine that may work better for youIJ Ilnh

I can't help much on the CX combine. They don't sell them this far south. I did see a TX once in corn and it was doing a good job. I think the long straw thing was started by John Deere people before they had a rotor combine.....I mean a STS combine. Ilnh

I'm from the "land of lincoln" the great state of Illinois. We live in the southern part of the state. It can be almost as hot and dry as Texas here in the summer. Not sure what options but I would get duel tires in place of single tires. I have had duels tires for years now and would not go back to single tires. Only if you truck your combine a lot would I get single tires then. The Terrain Tracer is standard equipment on the combines. looks like the Autofloat head height control would be nice. Not sure I would get the New Holland yield monitor on it but get an Agleader one. You also get a self level cleaning system with a New Holland standard, good if you have hills and rolling ground. Good luck, Ilnh

Why do you like duals so muchIJ I've never run a machine with duals, but some guys in the area feel the same way about them as you do, just curious.

I like the flotation the duals give me. Also the combine is very stable on hillsides and tracks good down the row. They don't seem to wear as much from the stubble. And if one goes flat you can still move. We had 30.5x32 on our TR95_TR96 and now have had 18.4xR42 on the TR97_TR98 and now our current TR99. This TR99 will go thur more mudd than any of our other combines would. It's just after you have a dual tired combine you would never go back to a single tire one. We run a 8 row corn head. I don't think you could run a 6 row corn head with duals to good. Corn would have to be standing very good. Ilnh

Hi: I noticed you were talking about the New Holland combine. Come view both pic's and video of the CR Combine from New Holland from ouir web site. We followed the Cr Combine throught he harvest of 2003. I can honestly tell you with out thinking.... the CX will preserve your straw better if your bailing for feed. The CR Combine will bust up the straw more and may be more difficult to bale behind. However you won't have as much damaged harvested seed with the CR (Rotary) combine. There are choices.... Come view our web site and get back to us @ John Bob if we can answer any questions for you. Have a great day. Just click on the link and you have both pic's and video to choose from..
