I honestly belive the John Deere is a better combine and in the long run is the best combine to buy. Color has nothing to do with it, as I do have 4 Case Magnum tractors and they are RED

then if this sts is so wonderful and not because of the shade it portrays and you really believe it..............give some reasons. Very easy to tell what farmers were livestock judgers back in thier days of school and what farmers were not.

I run IHC combines, then had 1480 rotor and also a 1680 rotor when they came with the Cummings motor, Traded for a Deere and was much more pleased with its performance. Please, everone is entitled to his opinion and I don't meant to upset anyone because of mine.

Noone is bashing your opinion jolly. We just want to know the particulars behind why. So far you havn't told us. Is it the threshibilityIJ Dealership cooperation with your farmIJ ReliabilityIJ Parts and ServiceIJ Ease of operation and maintenanceIJ WhatIJ You have yet to said WHY you prefer deere. To many times on this site answers have been given like you made and it was only because they can't see past the Green paint and they have no real reason why it's a better machine.

pardon the interuption, the reason I prefer John Deere Combines over others is the reliability, the dealerships around me(we have 3),and being part of a small grain buying business I see what other machines are sending in and honestly we have always matched the othes and under some conditions better. But the biggest two are the dealer and reliability. I have seen neighbors sit for days waiting on parts and that just doesn't wash

Mainly what has me sold is that Deere is the closest and biggest dealership we have and I can walk in there anytime during harvest and they always have the parts I need. Seems like that massey of dad's we always had to drive and then wait a day. The maximizer has always done a great enough job to make harvesting the crop profitable for me and when I go through that machine before harvest I just don't hardly ever have a breakdown except maybe a sickle section from an oversized sunflower stalk or electric fence post we missed that spring pulling fence. I was never impressed and don't know if I ever will be with Deere's tractors but I am very pleased and happy with my maximizer. AS for the sts......entirely to much plastic and to much self destruction I've seen listed to ever get me to own one. One of these days the way they are going with the fiberglass and plastic in these combines they are going to make a throwaway. 500 hours and you can it in the burn hole in the back 40 and get another one. I don't like the way this industry is headed with using so much plastic in the making of these combines.`
