I've had MF's forever, but I bought a new Deere planter (first green ever) this year, and we were having trouble with our new combine, so they brought us a 9760sts. No comparison. So much smoother and that new hydrflex platform is just unbelievable. I just have to have one, but the money seems outrageous. No one will even give me a bid on the 9690. I think I may be stuck. I know the MF is simple, but I'm putting a lot of hours on it, and I need a reliable combine that will eat the crop.

That would be the exact reason buying a new MF, Gleaner or Cat combine would scare me to death. I don't doubt that they are fine machines, but it seems like you're married to them if you buy them new. So, are you saying the 9690 has design problems or just your machine has been problematicIJ What kind of stuff has gone wrongIJ

As far as resale goes around,in Saskatchewan I know of a couple guys that have two and three year old Deere combines and the Deere dealer won't even take them on trade, now that is scary.

When you decide what you need for it, give me a holler. I'm looking to buy a 9690.

Your best bet would be to trade for the bigger massey.

I don't know the problems you had but trying to solve those is where I would start.I don't think you will have any trouble getting rid of this 9690. You have to remember there green combines around every corner there is not that many Masseys to choose from. I never had trouble selling my Masseys just for that reason. In taking to a deere salesman a deere is about 50,000 more set up the same.

By the way I had 8780 and now have a 8780xp. As I have said before on this sight they are great combines. Out here we put on Hilco leveling systems and they do a good in the hills.I tell my friends don't look a deere salesman in the eye after that your mind goes to mush. lOl
