I can understand your reasoning after reading through the posts, but really, after examining both combines at farm shows (JD and Massey) I have to say Massey has the better deal going as far as construction and engineering is concerned. Maybe its fit and finish isn't up to standards w_other brands, but the ease of maintenance can only be approached by Gleaner. Every Deere I've owned or had any contact with has been a nightmare to work on and who wants or can afford to have the dealer come out very often to help w_repairIJ Could it be worth trying a 9790 before getting totally away from MasseyIJ Or maybe even the Gleaner equivalentIJ I just know what a royal pain a Deere is to work on and hate to see anyone w_a good machine trade it for one of those. Sorry to ramble and not trying to make you mad, just one Gleaner_former Massey owner's opinion.
