call the jd dealer in princeton and ask him if he stocks the part, then ask him if he did not have it how long would it take to get it. You should not expect to be down any longer than 6 hours. Also check the dealer in Assumption Il

U can get on JDparts.com and check the part's availibility at the dealer. Most parts are at the Milan warehouse and u can go and pick them up yourself within 2 hr notice.

40 Miles East of MolineIJ That would put you around Annawan, or Princeton area. You should have quite a few dealewrs within driving distance to choose from. Brither in law farms near Peoria and he has on many occasions driven to Milan, or had me pick it up, for parts for his 7720, and they always seem to have the part ready, even on Saturday. Have you demo'd a 9860 yetIJ What dealer got you the demo, if you don't mind me asking.

Demoed a 9760sts and 8010 together in the same field w_12R corn heads. They could both do 5.2 mph. Deere left less corn, but case had better sample (although the deere dealer just brought it across the field from beans and hit a button). They never fine-tuned it. If you want a combine the size of an AFX8010, buy a 9760sts, if you want a big(ger) combine, buy a 9860sts. It's bigger than the 8010.

If I am correct, isn't the 9860 just a 9760 with more engine horsepowerIJ Does the capacity increase that much with more HPIJ I imagine it does, but enough to warrant it a "big(ger) combine"IJ "It's bigger than the 8010"IJ Thanks, CNHboy

I wonder if you can fix the rotor cage any easier on a 60 series. seems like little rocks and header fingers do a job on them.

After running lexions all over the midwest for a couple of sesasons, I can tell you that we even got JD and Napa parts to keep the lexions going. Hardly any CAT dealer is open after hours, while most JD dealers have extended weekday hours and are open on Sunday during harvest time. In our fall harvest area we have at least 5 JD dealer in a 30 mile radius, no lexion dealer, no CNH dealer. There are JD dealers, that don't stock any parts, too. But the next one, that stocks a lot of parts is usually not far.

To me it's not which one is the biggest. Comparitively the STS's maintenance costs are out of sight.

Cat dealers have later hours most of the time. Heck I know a couple who are open till midnight! Plus 24_7 call in. And have been for along time. They have 24 hour for some of the other industries, the important ones! Boy some one is going to take that wrong. Cat builds generators for power supply, i.e. they keep hospitals open becuase the never lose power! Hope that everone agrees hopitals have a higher priotity at one in the morning than my tractor. But it is a nice perk to know they will be open or available 24_7.

Generally only for truck parts. And thats not after 12 on Sat. or Sunday all day. Other colors will be open until 5 0r 6 Sat and Sun during spring and fall. Only way Cat is open is with cash in hand.
