I can't remember which motor the 7020 has in it, but our 8010 had the 301 - it was rock solid above 1600 rpm but wouldn't lug very well below that. Seems like you needed 1700 rpms to get the turbo "spun up" and get the ponies. The 8010 was the exact opposite of the JD 4020 it replaced - 4020 lugged like crazy at low rpm but wouldn't hold at rated speed. The problem was that you needed to keep the rpms UP on the 4020 when working him to keep johnny from overheating. Believe me, after using both and seeing both ends of the spectrum, I'll take the holding power at rated speed any day!! Other than being a nice handling tractor that is easy to steer, I sure don't see where the 4020 gets it's "glorious" reputation! Tom langan
