We went through our 1990 946 for $8306 two months ago. Thats all parts, new turbo, pump and injectors gone through, etc. Plus Cummins did all the work in my shop and I get a 1 year unlimited hour warranty. Thats an 855 Cummins, which is bigger than the 305 engine. The 305 is a money pit. Drivelines are OK, but still not near what you get on the same age Versatile or CaseIH. Powershift is pretty mediocre as well and big time bucks to fix it. The 305 is a decent tractor, but you can get so much more for the same or just a bit more money. You could give me a 305, but I'd take it directly to a consignment sale and use the proceeds to buy a Stieger or Versatile. The 305 is better than the Deere 40 series, but thats about it.
