Adding solar panels

We have decided to add solar panels on our farm. We just started looking into it but I'm pretty excited. It would be great to get away from depending on the electric company. Does anyone have solar panels on your farm?

No, but I think it is a great idea. Do you think that you would generate enough electricity to run the farm or just to supplement what you are using? It isn't something we ever looked into because the start up cost is pretty high.

I have heard that solar energy can help farmers save on energy costs in the long run. Is the initial cost of installation affordable? I am considering a set-up where one source of energy supplements the other.
