Combines Adjustable Pre Cleaners on Deere STS Combines

Thanks for all the replies. The canola we were doing ran 46bpa, moisture 5.6%, very heavy straw. I ended up with the pre-cleaner shut right off and had to keep my ground speed around the 4 MPH, then I could do a good job. The canola variety is Pioneer 45h25. The customer I am working for is very pleased with the sample and minimal losses. Jim

I see substantial evidence and comments that the adjustable precleaner helps in small grains and pulse crops. Still wondering how much benefit is there in cleaning up soybean pods from the clean grain sample in the corn beltIJ Anyone have related experience or comments on thisIJ
