Say it ain't so. They haver about the best product on the market. I hope Agco knows how to run it because they have a way of running companies into the ground.

I will not argue the point I wish AGCO would put more energy into promotions of products such as Gleaners etc. But the statement of 'running companies into the ground' is a gross exaggeration of the truth. AGCO has saved many companies from EXTINCTION! You just don't know how close AC, White, NI, in fact most All the companies AGCO bought were to either closing or being put on the auction block. If Deere or others had bought them the identity and heritage would have vanished. You see the 'view' from the outside. You do not see the view from the inside of what would have been had AGCO not been there. It is just like when your local bank "changes its name to provide increased service" -bull. They were in a position of financial condition that they were taken over or bought out. You never knew. The arguement of "running in the ground " can be countered by 10 to 1 with "saving from the ashes"!

I was wondering if you could tell me which divisions or division of Agco is actually making money and which ones they should let die.

well, since losses abound abundantly I shall leave the mortality question to the undertakers. They tell me Coventry and Baveau are in the red, as are the combines. That leaves the KS plant and you know the location of the other tractor plant....... Sprayers are OK.. and also there is the fact that some product lines provide positive cash flow even though they don't show profit and it gets even more complicated the deeper ya' dig. It is like White tractors, they may not be profitable, but everyone they produce lowers the cost of a like MF unit and keeps the doors of a White dealer open who sells Gleaners and NI or Hesston etc.... get the ideaIJ If you do explain it completely to me....

Believe me when I say and ask a Agco rep that Coventry and Beavais are not in the red. They produce red tractors and after they have caught up to orders they put out a couple of white and orange ones.As far as building these white and orange tractors to 'lower' the cost of the red ones, not happening, all they are doing is paying interest on the them because they can'y give them away.As far as combines go,same scenerio applies, can't give away a C-62 but can't get anymore 8680s until the C-62 is sold out,go figure.Hesston is also making some money and NI breaking even,Fendt is also working on a small profit. So basicly you have four divisions that are carrying the load for the other losers, changes are a coming, just around the corner.Agco is having dealer meetings in Vegas this February for all its dealers, then a week later all the Massey dealers are going to Dallas for further meetings, interesting.

evidentallllly all AGCO people are not on the same page. Depends on whom one believes. And close to the majority of White and Allis dealers ARE MF dealers. We are. Do I detect a bit O' prejudice in yo' tone of print ;-0. IJ BTW we have had a little success in moving a few non- MF units, and we didn't give them away beleive you me. The MF's sell well below 100 hp the others do well above 100. When people see the new AGCO power shuttle_power shift units - they are as nice _nicer than anything in the market place. Your choice is Cummins or Perkins a win win deal. Now if just corn beans wheat were any price...

Folk on here that are closely connected to AGCO (dealers, etc) would know better than I would, but I have a very difficult time believing that Massey is "carrying" Gleaner_Allis_White - at least in the North American market. Perhaps the "secret meeting in the dead of the night" for the Massey dealers are to inform them that AGCO is pulling the plug on the red paint in the U.S.IJ Who knows! Time will tell.....
