Agricultural innovation in The Netherlands

Though it is a small country, The Netherlands is a leading world exporter of food. In comparison, the Dutch population is smaller than some of the world's largest cities. What has the country done differently, and can other countries adopt these innovations?

Holland is the world's second largest exporter of food, exporting more food than much larger neighbors like Italy and France. The Dutch are known for their network of huge industrial greenhouses.

I wonder what they are doing to be so successful. I read that they do have very large greenhouses so that probably helps. Whatever it is that they are doing, bravo to them.
