I'm not sure where you are located, but you need to find a fab shop in your area with a decent press brake. Take in a section of your old floor pan and they should be able to form the sheet for much less. Then all you have to do is drill a few holes and bolt it in. Brewer Steel in Greeley Colorado made me stainless steel floor pans for a 12 row all-crop head for about $700. Regular steel would be less than half price.

I agree with cornchopper. Go to a good welding or sheetmetal shop and have them make a new floor with forming rolls or a brake and them weld or bolt it in. local guys probably need business anyway.

also a good plumbing and heating shop could also do...have them make it out of galv. sheet which I'm sure they would have on hand. May have to make sure you are using same thickness of steel to replace.

yes that that is true I live in a small town there could possibly be someone local.

We talked to a heating and A_C shop and he said that he had galvanized sheet metal except it was lighter gauge material.

Take the complete floor to the fab shop. They will need to see the "hole picture" to make it right. Next buy a long handle pop rivit gun, the two handed kind.. after you pop about 100 rivits the longer the handles the better.. Next buy STEEl rivits, the aluminum one pop easy but don't last long.. Now find a couple highschool football players with big strong arms and give the rivit gun to them.. I did two 30ft headers this years, my arms were wore out poping all those rivits..

Thanks for the advice I will have to find a fab shop and have them build one. $700 is just a little on the high side.

It may be easier to try to find another head. If it is for a Gleaner A you could probably by a whole machine for $700.I have a 10 foot Gleaner A head I would take a 100 dollars for. I am in southern Indiana.

I covered the floor on my M2 header with 3_16 black plastic sheets held down with big head bolts used for bucket elevator cups. Front held down with 10 guage formed steel 6"wide bolted to front of head and to rear at feeder opening. plastic meets at middle. Cost $50.00 Can. for plastic. crops slide real good on plastic. 3years and no prolems.
