Background Noise for Cows

Now that it's winter, and the cows stay in the barn more often, I wonder if they get bored. Do any of you keep a radio playing for your cows inside the barn? Do you know if cows actually enjoy the sound of people talking or music or if it annoys them?

A cow's life in general seems boring. I don't think they respond to stimuli like that. They seem perfectly content chewing their cud and swooshing the flies away with their tails.

It's an interesting question, one I haven't given a lot of thought to. I have a little radio in the barn that I turn on while I'm doing the feeding and other chores in there. It doesn't seem to affect the cows one way or another.
