So, everyone thinks the roll is just hunky doryIJ I don't know cliff, I hope for your sake it doesn't crash and burn like these deals all did a few years ago. I watched a few nice guys get lured into what turned out to be something that they never dreamed could happen. You have stitched your britches up to this guy and are betting it all that nothing can go wrong. I bet you noticed that the papers you signed were written up by walterman's lawyers, not yours. GS

So let me get this straight green. You don't deal with Walterman's, but you know all about their paperwork. Sounds like sour grapes to me. For starters, Walterman bashers. They are taking advantage of the finance waivers offered by C-IH that is available for every dealer in the countryside. If any of these dealers wanted to expand their businesses, they could also create a similar program for their customers as well. Their service is second to none in my book. We live 230 miles from them, and with the "in the field" mechanics, we get quicker service than from our local dealerships that are within 30 miles. And it is FREE! So while some of the people whine about the program, we are going to continue rolling 2 year old 2388's for $8.44_ acre and continue to save some money and have just about trouble free harvests.

Is it set up as a straight so many dollar dealIJ Or is it so much an hourIJ The 66 series program sounds a little enticing. Chads

So your guy can fly over to you in an F16 and beat the guy who is 30 miles from you for freeIJ First of all, nothing is free, second, ..nevermind. I wish you good luck, you are playing with fire. GS

I know with the 88 we are paying a set price per year. It is X price for the new ones and gets cheaper as you get into the older ones. We have never been told an hour limitation, but I am sure that if a person put an extreme amount of hours on it they would have to charge them more. I have a neighbor in the program who started with the 44 and is now in the 66. They were 5 year old machines and he was told an hour limit. So I guess it depends on the age and size.

No, it is actually a B-2 stealth that the mechanic flies. That way they can be secretive and add to all of the rumors about them.

I know alot of people are scared about what will happen with this roll program goes bust but the worst thing that could happen is we would have to buy the combine we own at the time. Even if we don't have a combine in our shed all year we own the "serial number" and the combine is financed through Case Credit at a purchase price below most dealers. I guess the biggest risk is not knowing for sure what machine you will get the next year but they are under warranty and they have a fleet of service vehicles so we aren't worried about that.

Anteater6788 How many acres are you having to run your comine over per year to get to your 9$ per acre cost. I'm in the PNW and we just got machinery link but I don't see how they are too competitive to you and your system

he would have to fly an SR71 to beat the guy that was 200 miles closer. You really should read your stuff before you post. GS

It's really not that uncommon. I can get better prices AND service from a tire dealer that is 200 miles away than one that is 5. Go figure. Chads
