They're Bullet rotors, not bi-rotor.The rotor is a different shape to the original conventional STS. It's not a JD Bi-rotor as per the original concept of both the rotor and the concave turning..... unfortunatley.

I know of the Bullet rotor, but I am talking of something completely different, as per your "concept" comment. There are two of them out there somewhere.

Why are we so "sure" that there are 2 of them out there. I thought that they had been basically shelved due to cost prohibitive design.

The Bi-Rotor was not shelved due to cost prohibitive design. It was probably bought and put on the development burner by Deere. Afterall, they already had 3 years of development and long term commitment into their STS by July 1995, when they bought up the seventeen Bi-Rotor patents. Frankly, the VPS concept was a significant and viable threat to their production of combines, sprayers, and commodity carts and tractors. Autonomous control and auto guidance would be much easier with the header, planter and sprayer all up front as proposed via the XBR2. Overall the dual path grainhandling system and benefits of rotary concave will eventually prevail from some source. Alan

I am pretty sure they bought the rights to keep other companies from buying it and attempting to put into production. Just a hunch........
