Half your luck!! I would love to have an up close look at the XB2 (bit tricky to do what u have from Aust.) I saw the proto video when over there back in '98 and it looked very impressive then. I assume he now has some reasonable hrs up on it by now. How has it stood up to the test of time. dakota, I'm having a hard time following you on this one. Are you saying the rotor is augering the grain rearward faster than it can fall through the gratesIJ Or is there some other spinning that you are talking aboutIJ Mike

Yes, you can say it gets augered out the back faster than it finds them small wholes in the grates.

We ran four lexions last summer and ended up loosing our biggest customer due to none performance. Meanwhile I have talked to numerous people across the midwest who have similar problems. I even got emails from Australia, Canada and England from people who telling me basically the same thing. Most complain about excessive grain loss over the rotors_walkers and poor samples in corn. When they get over 600 hours they experience excessive wear and breakdowns. One guy had to rent a different color to get his crop of the field.

Sorry Dakota but I'm not buying into this rifle effect at all in regards to rotors. My main harvest is corn and for the last 25 years my corn has been harvested with a IH rotor. I've had every harvest and type of corn crop you could imagine and the last thing I worry about is corn going out the back of the rotor combine. It just doesn't happen. I have never been limited in harvesting by the rotor in regards to rotor loss. Never.

I have also ran a 475 in corn and never had problems with losing corn over the rotors or the sieves. When looking at the large openings in the wire rotor grates as found in the R series Cat I just can't understand what you mean by "small openings". The only problem that we had in corn was keeping the corn away from the combine. With a 12 row head it was quite a workout for a 800 bu. grain cart and 3 semis.
