no inspection port to stop dirt entering and causeing vibration etc first thing first what caused the problem ie bearing now how bad is the twist we have put one back in with the twisted shaft with no problem the twist was right up next to the plate and the shaft had not moved forward or back at all done a few hectares now with no problems the shaft is a short one if i remeber rightly remove the spot welds you will have to look along the auger and you will find another ring of spot welds this is the end of the shaft you can cut a hole in the tube to look inside just weld the patch back in when you are finish now mark the cap at the end of the auger so it goes back in the same place just makes the job easier and follow ya nose good luck

We had this happen on our 930. The last reply gives you the lowdown on how to get at it, but do check into the new parts. The new shaft we put in was much larger, thus a new bearing and end plate as well. Our dealer said this was a problem area, thus the heavier parts. The header is gone now, but many acres were put on after the fix with no more problems. Good luck.
