Can you get food poisoning from pumpkin pie? It was Libby filling, and the rest of the ingredients were fresh.

I would think if bacteria grows on it you can become ill???

The simple answer is, "Yes".

Anything canned can become contaminated and should not be eaten. Was the can swelled or bloated before opening?

I would think you could get sick from any food. How old was the can of pumpkin? Did it smell or have an odd coloring? Perhaps something else got you sick.
