Can You Weld Grade 8 Bolts

Can you weld grade 8 bolts, or is there a risk of them snapping off? Would grade 5 be better for welding?

Yes you can but they won't be grade 8 anymore. I'm not sure exactly what they'd be. I'm not even sure they'd be grade 5.

Yes you can I worked on a asphalt plant for 43 years we would tack weld the nuts on 3/4 inch bolts inside the dryer on the drying flites so they wouldn't come loose in the 500 degree heated aggregate never had one to break
