It might be wise to wait a few years for several reasons. First I can see people falling asleep causing some insurance problems. Secondly the price will plummet to being almost free like cell phones. Here cell phones are illegal to use on major roads and insurance companies have tried to get out of paying for phone induced accidents. If you dont want to steer, why not just hire stuff done...lol

Here's why I want auto steer. This year I have both a different sprayer and air seeder. Both have extensive monitor systems. To operate these on the go requires me to stare at the screen for periods of time, scrolling, studying, etc. Hard to utilize the advantages of these systems any other way. Also nice for looking back for long periods of time. You know how hard that is to do when steering! I can use it for 2 operations over my acres. I'll be covering about 3500-4000 acres with the unit on the 2 rigs total, maybe more if we gotta go over with fungicide on beans. You can see that the $3500 on a per acre basis gets diluted pretty quickly, especially over more than one year. I don't believe I'll have trouble staying awake, I think I'll be fascinated!

Thats why truck drivers have to keep log books and can only drive a certain number of hours a day and yet more than half of trucking accidents are blamed on sleep_drowsiness. Just a few months ago there was a bus accident in New York State where the driver fell asleep and 4 local people were killed. It really isnt that uncommon
