Don't fall for the way JD markets things now days. Give it a fancy name, change a few things so it will cost more and market, market and market it some more. Have to say it seems to work for them. CIH has the new 2020 flex heads. It is like the 74c New Hollands. It will be a very good head and should cut right there with anyones. They also will have the flex draper head, don't think JD has that yetIJ They just don't market it as well. Ilnh

Case will have access to a flex draper head but it is made by Macdon. Honeybee is also making a flex draperhead.

Behind the timesIJ IH_CIH had rotors 25 years before Deere decided rotors were a good idea. Put a Deere header on your combine if that works for you. You won't be the first one. Actually I think its going to be all CIH_NH headers from now on, or McDon as an option.

I was told in my ag program at school that Deere sold the rotor patent to Case IH years ago. So they didn't come up with the rotor design. just my 2 cents correct me if I'm wrong I'd like to know the truth if I was told wrong.

I heard alot(not sure if it 100% accurate) that the only reason deere has a rotary combine now is because Case's patents on their rotary design came due.They may have somewhat of a rotary but a rotary machine is supposed to be a simple machine,something they seemed tto forgotten about.

I don't know about JD selling rotary patents to IH but JD did start experminting with rotaries in the 50s.

JD dosn't even need engineers, all they do is steal other peoples pattens. look at the STS an axile flow painted green, it even has all the same mistakes that IH made. If you scatch the paint hard enough maybe you will find red underneath.

I don't think there is anything to the old story about Deere selling the rotary idea to IH. I do think the same guy came up with both the IH and the NH rotary combine designs. And there was law suits between IH and NH. Often suspected that might be the reason for one being a single rotor and the other being a twin rotor. And now the AFX rotor has a screw on the front like NH has had for years. John Deere did sue IH over patent infringement on their corn head design years ago and won the case. IH had to pay up.
