Combines Concave bars

Haven't seen it done anywhere, and I've been around lots of Gleaners. I question whether the 1_4" thick flat iron is actually tall enough to do any good, at least in the forward position. I'd suggest that if you intend to use flat iron, you need to use about 3_8" since it's thickness is appprox. the same as the length of a kernel of corn. Also, you should drill and tap threads in a solid bar and put the bolts in from the outside so the heads won't be sticking up and causing problems. I don't think the channel irons will give you problems with cob breakage since they're not spaced but 1 1_4" between the webs, and it's next to impossible to let an ear get stuck in between them.

I had an E several years ago an it used 1_2 round bars. I believe there was two 1_2 rounds, one located on the door and the second at the begining of the concave. I believe they were a factory item, recommended for corn.
