Conflict Between Wife and Farm Worker

My wife and one of our farm workers don't get along. They just seem to rub each other the wrong way. The farm worker does have a bit of an attitude, which isn't helping anything. It's gotten worse lately, maybe because the holidays are stressful. My wife wants me to fire him and hire someone else, but I would rather work this out if we can. Have any of you faced this type of situation? If so, how did you handle it?

What counts, at the end of the day, is the kind of value this farmworker adds to the farm. Does he get along with the rest of his colleagues? It may help to speak to them separately and sort this out amicably.

Would your wife be open to talking out the issue? How valuable is this particular farm worker? Does he have special knowledge or skills that would be difficult to find a replacement for?

Does your wife feel scared or off around him? If so, easy choice... let him go. If not, maybe try to talk to him. That's a hard one. You've gotta listen to your wife.
