glad to see that you are happy with your cat built by class combine brian but comparing a R7 with it is a little unfair. double the R72,i'd like to see that and yes in my travels i have seen the cats at work.john

Well, I don't know about the rest of ya, but I'm tickled pink that brian is happy with his kitty - made my whole day! But personally, I'm glad I don't have a combine the same color as calf scours. After all, the color is what makes or breaks a combine, rightIJ Maybe if they gleamed in the sunlight like our Gleaners, those pesky grasshoppers in his corn would hop outta the way! Tom langan

At 7.4 mph and a 12row head you would cover 26.9 acres an hour. With 130 bu. corn that works out to 3497 bu. an hour. Now I'm not saying that the kitty couldn't do that but in southeast Kansas 3 of the 4 or 5 semi's you would need to keep up would be stuck in the elevator line for 30 minutes.

Brian thanks for your reply. we too started off on N7s then R60 and so on. I know you guys have different conditions over there(i lived in Canada for a while) and unless we are in irrigated crops it's hard to load the 72s.some of them now have 42 feet headers.I have worked Class combines and have found them solid but our drier conditions don't seem to suit them as well as wetter seasons.
