Combines CR trouble

true i agree 100% BUT to think that every single part on a machine should be available and with 24 hours isn't possible. ive worked for JD, CAT and AGCO, and none of them had every single part for every single machine at the closest warehouse to me so i could have them within 24 hours! Yes they do have all of the major ones, engines, final drives, trannys, but those usually arn't the ones that get you its the little ones at least that is what i have found!

Hey Dakota, I didn't get your email, try again twinrotor99@yahoo.com that goes for anyone on here, feel free to email me and we can chat about combines, I always enjoy that kind of thing. Until this site, I thought I was the only one in the world that can get so worked up over combines! Robert

Ever hear of air freight and UPS. It does not have to be at a warehouse near you to get you going in 24 hours. Its a goal every manufacture should have. Oh and by the way if the machine is under warranty I expect the freight to be paid by the company.

why yes i have heard of ups and air freight! have you ever heard of a farmer coming in after 5:00 and demanding to have parts the next dayIJ it doens't matter what kind of frieght you ask for it will not be there with in 24 hours!! or worse yet coming in at 4:30 demanding next day service and then having the gual to complain about the frieght bill i sure as hell have!

I did not know the world quit at 4:30IJ Somehow my day is a little longer than that. Heck sometimes I'm just getting started at that time. Must be nice to go home at 5pmIJ I used to have one dealer that would drive and get the part for me from a parts depo. To bad he retired. New dealers think they need a life. Goto go play golf or something. Just giving you a hard time, but us farmers are really pushed to the limit nowdays and we think you guys should work like us. Would be nice to have 24 hour 7 day service. Ilnh

It's just a bearing broke out of the frame. It could be reinforced and welded in a few hours. But since it is still under warranty, it's not up to me to decide. I read all your posts further down. Yes it is often little stuff, that the dealers don't have in stock and cause downtime. But there are a few in the business, who just take it of another combine and get you going. If just one company would stand up and provide superior service. They could take the market in a heartbeat, even if there product isn't perfect. But as long as the competition isn't any better than what you have, nobody wins.

Not sure about the problems, Ran a CX860 all season tell our 970 arrived and had no problems. We have about 50 hours on the CR 970 and have had no problems. We have a 42 ft Honeybee head and the machines eats

like any new machine there are bugs but some are not even NH fault. One of the biggest problems has been the early build hydrostats. These are built by Sauer Danfoss. Somehow they overreamed the pump piston bushing bores and so the brass bushings will push out. The pump then grinds these bushings into nice brass powder that gets pumped straight down to the hydro motor. There is also an update that will be released soon replacing the early feederhouse drum supports and the drum gets 6 bolt bearing flanges instead of a 3 bolt flange. Most all of these combines will be the first ones built that were company demo units last year.

We have had a CR940 for a week and half now, plenty of problems. Just put on the 30 draper last night, and it worked for 3 hrs, now I am waiting for service this morning. There is some kind of hydraulic problem. Problems on the Cr range from computer problems, and lots of problems with the feed roll on the chopper. More later.
