I love cranberries, but it seems like this is the only time of the year you can purchase them (unless you want to purchase the canned kind). So I always stock up. I buy a bunch of bags at this time of year and freeze them so that we can enjoy them throughout the year. Thankfully, they stay good frozen for an entire year.

Do you have anything you stock up on for several months or a year at a time?

I stock up on peanut butter when it goes on sale, but that's really about it. I preserve most of the things I grow and we eat on that throughout the year or I'd probably buy more.

I never thought about buying produce at the store and freezing it. Does that help a lot, @Andrew T? I buy a whole cow once a year and have it butchered up for the freezer if that counts. I stock up on paper supplies and drinks, but that's about it. Like @Smarty Plants I preserve what I can from my harvest and it gets us through. I could probably do better on this front; I just need to pay attention to the sales cycle.
