I can't say anything about capacities of machines in question as I don't know. However, I went the 2 smaller machines as opposed to 1 larger machine. WRONG ANSWER, now I need more removal capacity, more operators, more headaches with repairs, transport. The 2 smaller machines sure look good on paper, but field headaches tell me from a practical point DO NOT do this. You will be sorry. Also money does seem to be to high to me as well.

Kurt, have you ever heard of GREASE FITTINGS, many are more accessible with the heads off and shields removed between one head to the other. Especially when you have the wide tires on like my machine does, I don't fit well between the head and tires. And GREASE has always been cheaper than bearings and belts.

Well that makes a lot of sense. I don't consider greasing a combine part of the change over to another crop, it is just every day maintanice. Kurt
