If you make a living farming, do you have a back-up plan if things go south? Like being a mechanic on your property or a sales rep in town? As examples.

I am a full-time farmer who also understands that a back-up plan is useful. If things were to go south, I'd go back to a sales manager or property valuation job. All the same, chances of quitting farming are slim, considering how much I have diversified.

I keep up with real estate trends when I have the time. If the bottom fell out of what I'm doing now, I would probably get a real estate licence and go that route.

I'm a full-time farmer and hope I won't ever need to do anything else. However, I do have some experience in sales, so I'd pick up a sales job if things were to go south here.
