Do you makes notes, and if so, how?

Things can get critical for farming and I have a huge notebook that documents basically everything that I need to note about the farming routine. For all the expenses and budgets and such, I have another notebook. It sounds very traditional I know. But I also want to know how you document all the stuff and such?

I make notes while I'm out and about my homestead. I type my notes into my phone and I keep those synched with my computer. I have horrible handwriting so documenting things that way works best for me.
