Is drip irrigation only suitable for drought-prone regions? Yes, it can reduce a farm's water consumption by as much as 60 percent and increase crop yield by 90 percent, but does this net off with the cost of installation?

All I know about drip irrigation is that it applies to any crop, and fits all topographies. There is the potential of saving water and nutrients by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots. On a large-scale farm, impact sprinkling could be a better option!

A drip-irrigation system can be as complicated or as easy as you want it to be. You can make your own system for very little. It will take some time to piece it together, though, especially if you're intending to do several acres.
