Combines DURTY SAMPlE 9750 STS

So would everyone else. So far, it has been something my neighbors have had to live with, no matter the crop: corn, beans, wheat, etc. but, they are also contending with constant grain damage too.

I have been raising food grade beans (tofu) and the guys who grade the beans at the processing plant where we deliver say they can tell a sample from a STS machine without knowing who combined them by the low quality of the sample. lots of F.M. and splits. Good corn machine,but for beans.IJ

Try raising your wind speed a little more than what the book says.

Sorry to tell you, we had the same problem in wheat. The 2388 we leased put seed wheat quality in the bin. A friend of ours went back to red for that reason.

the 9650 sts we leased we had to speed the rotor up a lot over what the book said to make it clean in canola after that it did great. couldn,t make it clean in wheat. PS was combining 30'windrows in 1800n_acre canola

i would agree w_ the higher wind speed, i have good luck w_ 100 to 150 rpm's higher than book settings, which is just a guide line. have you done power shut downs to see what is going onIJ really dry strawIJ over thrashing maybeIJ sieve to far openIJlots of questions and things to try, one at a time. good luck Hey DakotaIJ since your a "green basher" now, i was wondering,what kind of operators you put in your machinesIJIJ you have done nothing but belly ache about how bad your machines let you down. well we've all heard it and since your a big cat man now,,,,,,why are you worried about what goes on in hereIJIJ

yea mit9750 I was wondering the same thing about dakota but I guess some people could "break an anvil" given the chance and those same people are like working around a black bear cub with a hard on when it comes to fixing something. He will get better now though as he will have to work on the great cat or lexion or class or whatever it is or will be. Will a deere dealer take a 400 houred 470 cat on a 4000 houred 7700IJ I hope they keep buying those off breeds keeps the price of the good equipment down my .02

very good point. don't mind constructive bashing, but he's getting out of hand. maintenince is the key,If you don't maintain it, it won't maintain you! no matter what color. They All cost too much and labor is just as bad, but can you blame the service techs for charging what they doIJ we all have them fix stuff we don't want to try to do ourselves. i did myself a favor and bought a tech manual for our 9750's. just a little tip from mit. c-ya

Gentlemen I normally keep out of these arguments but I will step into the bullpit.We are contract harvesters (custom cutters) and I see a lot of other machines work as for some jobs the farmers need a lot of country harvested.last year 2001 wheat harvest we joined up with another contractor who ran 9650cts's,9650sts and 9610's plus 2388 cases.This guy had his crew going over those combines like you would not believe on those times we were not harvesting even down to wiping the paintwork with a rag yet those 9650cts's just kept breaking down day after day.The 9650 sts seemed to go okay although I did not spend a lot of time with it and the 9610's which were getting a fair few hours on them just kept going and going.The cases also seemed to be reliable except for a couple of things.So when Dakota say's that he has had a bad time with his newer ones I tend to believe him even though I have never met the man just as the guys who have had no trouble with theirs,well thats great too.I think that contractors tend to work their machines harder (A) to keep the farmer happy getting the crop off in a hurry (B) It takes a lot of acres to pay off a machine that costs $360 000 aust. when you get $11 to $12 per acre.john
