your right johnboy,I know what the harvest crew is like also.3 yrs w_ an outfit of 10 9610"s,now 3yr old 9650's. hrs our long and you push the hell out of the old girls. my last yr i put 971 sep hrs on mine. every color has a bad one in it.this yr i too had some small problems w_ my 9750 and only put on alittle over 400 sep hrs this fall. i should'nt judge the man it just seems to me i'm hearing the same thing from him. their junk,should'nt run them , the break down, their junk, gonna run cats and never break down again, won't run a deere again, their junk. so i had to put my my foot down and say HEY enough we get the point man! Try running the chaffer closed down as much as possible without excess grain loss, this will ensure the grain passing to the sieve is as clean as possible. You will also probably find that by doing this the fan speed will have to be reduced too. We removed every second wire in the small grain concave to reduce over-thrashing and run the rotor as slow as possible. Try checking the chaffer and sieve calibration to ensure you are achieving the correct settings. With our 9650 sts in a 2.5t_ha canola crop with a 30ft head direct heading we had the chaffer on 13-14 the sieve 2 the fan 780-800rpm. the moisture was 7% and the crop was fairly even. hope you can make some use of this information.

What speed jdman were you harvesting canola direct headingIJ Do you windrow or swath your canola at allIJWhat loss if any do you get direct headingIJ We run a 9550 and all our canola is windrowed but have not reached the yeilds you are getting our max is 2.3ha

We only travel at about 4-5 km_h. That is as fast as we can physically get it in the header. I think a draper front would probable be better. We don't swath or windrow as we tend to get bad thunderstorms during harvest and in previous years people in the area have lost crops because of mouldy canola in the windrows. The loss at the header varies depending on how hot the day is. We try to harvest it in the mornings and late in the afternoon if possible, but even in the heat of the day the losses are still acceptable.

Check to make sure your seive is good,Deere had some bad ones that wasn't the same gap from left to right.I had the same problem and that was it.
