I second ROM's comments!! Do the world trip before you settle down, and as My Mum said it was my "Collage Education" and I paid for it my self!!!! Work like a mad man for twelve months save up twice as much that you have budgeted for then just throw a dart at the map of you preferred area of the world map and start there, and don't always go to the tourist type things all the time!! you can have a lot of fun with the locals!!!!!!!!!!!! I do have to thank the Web Master Marvin G to helping me see some other opinions from ONE part of the world! and it's true that "when in Rome do as the Romans do". You can do one year over and over for a life time or a life time once over! Rolf

Here is something to consider. Im 99.9% positive that KSU has an engineering program (electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) It could be advantageous to take some engineering classes. All this can be done while you are currently completing your other degree. I believe, that if you talked to someone that knew the curriculum well and worked with you, it would only require one more semester to learn some valuable information. Besides, it never hurts to have a good mathematical or physics background. All it takes is a little effort. Also, know that much of what is taught in the beginning level courses is conveyed into the upper levels. In fact, most upper level courses teach how to apply what was learned at the elementary level. Restrictions and registration holds should not pose any significant problems either. I made it over halfway through a MAE curriculum without declaring it as my major. Classes that I consider important are the Geometry(s),Algebra(s),Calculus(s),Physics, and Statics. Here is an example of how it can be applied. Dannyboy is having trouble with his 1680 lifting his header from the posts below. If he knows roughly the weight of the header and takes some geometry measurements of the combine, he could figure how much hydraulic pressure the system must generate to lift the header and whether or not he would require an additional lifting cylinder(s). That knowledge is taught at the sophomore level and only requires the use of Algebra. I would like to add that everyone below made a good point about experience being the best attribute. My brother is much better than I at creating a simpler, more logical design. I base that statement knowing well that his knowledge comes primarily from experience. Personally, if it came down between an old farmer or a freshly out of school city-kid as to who knows more about farm machinery, I would choose the farmer without a doubt. Take Care! By the way, I know my brother reads these forums so I must add that he had better not get all uppity on me for throwing him a compliment. (lol)

You still be required to help me sweep down bin walls no matter how much butt you kiss. I will have your ladder, broom, and dust mask ready when you get home.

I want to let everyone know that I think he is compensating for something when he tells me what to do. ;-)

Thanks for the replies. I will probably stay away from the vo tech and try to learn more through experience. Kevin
