Combines engine transplant

Horsepower ratings used for a pickup truck and a combine are different. Combine engine must be rated for a constant load whereas the truck engine is rated for maximum horsepower. The 5.9 Cummins was used in some smaller CIH combines, 1640 I think, and in the older Massey rotary. In both cases it was a dog without enough power, especially in the Massey. So I don't think it would be a good choice for your N5. You need something with about 100 more cubic inches.

Found a 670T at another dealer. He said he would stand behind it. I'll take the intercooler of the old and put on the new one. This is a newer engine with the bosch fuel system and he claims it is probably putting out the right HP as is.It came out of an l2
