Extreme Weather

How does your livestock fare in extreme weather? Yes, Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota I'm talking to you. Do you take special precautions when an arctic blast is headed your way? Do you have all the resources you need? Winter is in full swing now.

We are getting extreme cold weather here too, with lots of snow! I make sure to put the cows in the barn during the storms. So far, so good.

Whenever I know it's going to be cold out, I herd our cows into the barn. I give them some extra food because I know a body trying to stay warm needs more calories. I also provide them with a lot of warm bedding they can use to help them stay warm on those cold days and nights.
