I was through the Deere plant last year and also through the IH plant this year I was through the Grand Island plant way better non union Case should have kicked the Union out years ago the unions are the ones that blew it with all there walk outs. I'm not gonna get into the kerry bush discussion, b_c that is over and the right man for agriculture was the winner. There's is no way that case would be better off with union labor. The price of a new combine is high enough, if you have union labor in there manufacturing combines, what is that gonna do to the priceIJ Answer=cosiderably higher. As for unions, they cause many problems. look at the steel industry in the U.S., ran in the ground by unions constantly wanting more money, and benefits. there are many examples of this. On the other hand if I was in a trade and had a choice to join a union, you better believe im jumpin right in there.

FR: Totally agree with you. all unions do is create another impervious clay layer in a company where information needed to run the company does not pass through. This translates into more bureaucracy and less efficiency in a company. On the other hand a company has to treat people decently so they feel valued. Otherwise unions will get in and the slide down the long slippery slope to oblivion will start. That is what in part finished off IH (along with bad management).
