Everyone always forgets the last half of that little jingle, "Nothing Runs like a Deere." It is, "But Nothing Smells like a John!" Couldn't resist!

Unfortunately, we have the lawyers to thank for this as well as many other insurance problems we have. This country seems to be so dang lawsuit happy it is getting ridiculous. I personally have never filed a lawsuit, or (knock wood) been sued. But now I am waiting as I have the first son starting to drive. As far as fires go, I've seen all colors and ages burn. I once saw a 2388 with les than 50 hours sitting in the field in a burnt heap. I've seen pictures of a 9750 in flames. And a CR that had a minor fire. And of course, a couple of the first year 8010's burnt too. Have to agree with the poster that said a large part of it is operator care and keeping the machine clean. There is a lot of dust and chaff with the harvesting process and it can get built up in a lot of areas that are not obvious.
