Combines followup on the articulated 4wd

The AGCOstar was close to what you said, but they didn't push it very much and that truck tansmission was a pain and they didn't offer a PTO on them. Back at the time, one of the AGCO engineers told me they had considered the last White 4wd as a template but they didn't think it would hold up like the MF design. Maybe they should make them like the Case 4wd's, there's a good number mad at CaseIH for dropping it in favor of the Stieger.

I think tbran just explained very well why they can't and won't do this. No profit. It's similar to the confusion everyone has when they wonder why Agco didn't try to continue the 8000 series AC tractor and went instead with a White_Massey cross. Everyone, including Agco knows that the 8000 design would sell like hotcakes, but the tooling was scrapped by Deutz. They can't very well go back and retool and expect to profit.

Year in and year out, my 20-year-old 4880 continues to run flawlessly. I should have bought 2.

The older I get the more I realize the truth in what you say. Murphys law always prevails.

I have two 4880's and a 4840 the 4880 has 13500 hours and still running strong. No engine problems with any of them.
