IG, I'm still shopping between Kuhns, Flanagan, and AC McCartney. Not trying to use one against the other, just want the machine that fits my needs best. Is tban an illinois dealerIJ If so, where at. Service with my Deere combine has been second to none and I don't want to lose that with my new combine. If you look in the Maurer catalog, they show the gleaner extension removed. But it looks to me like you could leave if on. Its the same square dimension as the top of the grain tank. I called Maurer, they say you can't do it because of legal height restrictions going down the road. It may also get too tall for our tool shed doors. One thing I don't understand is the R65 extension adds 175 bu and the R75 adds 100. They should be the same. Pushing grain to high is also hard on the bubble up auger.

I personally do not have any ties with this business other than a very happy customer. If only AGCO could have one E.J. Kehrer dealership every 50 milesIJ There would be no doubt in my mind AGCO would be n1 in volume sales of farm machinery with the quality they have to offer. With this operation you get the complete package and remain a satisfied customer!!

I have only ran my draper in wheat. I really wish they would come out with a height sensor package for the draper. It is a lot of head to watch the ends all of the time when cutting low. I am also wondering about the maintance requirements, seems like they are going to be a lot more than on just a regular rigid head. I guess time will tell Kurt

Kurt, Try adding the gauge wheels. They hold the head up when doing wheat but still allow it to tilt side to side.

We use our header height on wheat in combination with the gauge wheels. That's on a 9600. They put enough lift on the head that the float optimizer works.

You probably lose 75 bu. when removing the stock r75 extension. So your net gain is only 100 bu.

How do you use your header heightIJ At the present time they don't make a sensor package for a draper head, unless they have started to make one. Do you mean the return to cutIJ This would sense off of the feeder house. Can you describe what you mean by putting enough lift on the head that the float worksIJIJIJ Thanks Kurt

kip, we have a few customers that put mauer's on top of the factory extensions. There is one down the road from you that does this. The one thing that we do to compensate for the extra load is reinforce the bin-floor auger cover with a chain so it does not get into the auger. If you have any questions call or e-mail me, Brian

We run 974 MacDons, and they have height sensors or what MacDon calls a Float Optimizer. With the guage wheels down they put enough pressure up, like it was floating on the ground, to use it. If we change wheat heights then we have to adjust the gauge wheels to a different hole. We used them this year when we were cutting for straw. It kind of helped the operators from lifting so they could go faster.
