Is this a common problem for your area.If so it is worth the money to put on a airreel.I have a 1020 25' with keho air reel works great even in small grains.

Do you have 1 1_2 inch or 3 inch sickle. On the gleaner I used to own I had Tiger Jaws and had the same problem your having. In green stem beans running 3 inch on a 1020, I haven't had any problems! Good luck! CW

You might want to investigate the SCH cutting system. From what I have seen, an air reel like red rocket mentioned, combined with the 3" SCH system, is an awsome combo.

i have read where guys will run at an angle to the field so beans will be feeding across all of the header. this was in 15" beans. not sure how it would work in 30". just a thought. hth good luck! Duane

I've done this in 30 inch rows. It works well in unterraced ground on any row spacing. If you're in terraces, you have little option there.

The field is rolling gently. Opening the field I would go across rows as you said, and it did not change the feeding

Just a thought, but have noticed the timing on the auger teeth. We have bought 3 different 1020's and all have been way off on timing from factory. This will make the crop feed poorly like you mentioned. Funny how you go to the C_IH combine clinics and they stress how important this is and yet the factory can't do it for you. I can't remember the o'clock positions for timing but I am sure someone else here can help me remember.

An air reel can and will make a world of difference . But keep in mind that it does not make up for an inproperly or poorly set header . Joe
